I think my love of Art started as a child when I got my first set of paints in kindergarten. My first "big break" came from winning a school wide Art contest in third grade. I was hooked from then on. A second generation decorative artist, I watched my mother as she painted everything in oil and gold leaf. Having her paintings surround me, was an inspiration that still motivates me today. While my children were young, my paintbox collected a bit of dust, except for occasional craft projects and gift offerings. As my children grew older and more independent, I picked up my brushes and was once again able to pursue the joy of painting. The only thing I enjoy more than painting, is sharing it with others. I believe my Art is a gift of God and is meant to be shared, and so I love to teach! I received my Teacher of Decorative Art designation from the Society of Decorative Painters in February 2008. I am also a Level II and Elite One Stroke Certified Instructor. I have completed the Traditions Teacher Education System and am a Traditions Artist and Teacher. I have also served as a past President for my local Society of Decorative Painting chapter, Harbour Lights Painters. I consider myself blessed to be able to persue my passion, and share it with my students and others in my community.
