About the Artist

I think my love of Art started as a child when I got my first set of paints in kindergarten.  My first "big break" came from winning a school wide Art contest in third grade. I was hooked from then on.  My mother was a decorative artist before they even used the term.  She painted everything in oil and gold leaf and would toil for weeks and sometimes months on her projects.  Having her paintings surround me, was an inspiration that still motivates me today. While my children were young,  my paintbox collected a bit of dust, except for occasional craft projects and gift offerings.  As my children grew older and more independent, I picked up my brushes and was once again able to pursue the joy of painting.  The only thing I enjoy more than painting, is sharing it with others.  I believe my Art is a gift of God and meant to be shared, and so I love to teach!    Currently, I am certified as a Teacher of Decorative Art from the Society of Decorative Painters.   I am also an Elite One Stroke Certified Instructor.  I have completed the Traditions Teacher Education System I am secretary and board member for my local Society of Decorative Painting chapter.  I consider myself blessed to be able to persue my passion and share it with my students.
